Gion, Kyoto, Japan – another BEST night I "randomly" had. It's known in Japan that it's very hard and expensive to meet Geisha even for the Japanese, other than Japanese businessmen and politicians. Gion is sometimes considered the most exclusive and highest ranked Geisha distract in Kyoto and Japan. I got to meet Two generations of Geisha in person tonight!! So Lucky and beyond excited!!! Here is how it happened: being my usual outgoing and friendly self, randomly discovered this small chic restaurant (only us foreigners in the pic in the restaurant, the Japanese gent and his two female friends, the owner, chef and two waitresses) I started to chat with this Spanish couple. The friendly ambiance spread: the gent started to chat with the Spanish couple, saying the young Geiko(local term for Geisha) is coming in, assuming he's her client. Its's all our foreigners' first time seeing geisha and in such an intimate setting and close distance. I could barely contain my excitement, even tho I look collected in the pic. So were my new Spanish friends, (who are from Formentera. Another win – another my fav place!!) Every one just started to chat all together ; laughter and sake just started to flow! When I left, my waitress and the owner walked me out, bowed at me and were still waving at me after I walked away – haven't seen hospitality like this after traveling for almost 30 countries!
