one of my hardest/luckiest captures to date. a #maiko, or apprentice geiko, en route to entertain at the prestigious #ichirikichaya. real geiko/maiko don't stop to pose for you. their customers are charged from the moment the geiko/maiko leave their okiya until they come back so they are very conscientious about reaching their destinations speedily. they are trained from a young age in various arts including music, dance, tea ceremony, and conversation and are every bit as stunning and graceful as i had imagined they'd be. #gion #kyoto #japan
